— About The Project
It was an incredible honor to be on the graphics team for The Sing Sing Chronicles, a four-part docuseries that tells the stories of six wrongly convicted men seeking justice in New York's legal system. Following journalist Dan Slepian, the series exposes systemic failures and the resilience of those fighting injustice. The Sing Sing Chronicles premiered at DOC NYC on November 17, 2024, and on MSNBC on November 23, 2024.

— Considerations
The men featured in this docuseries are more than merely their circumstances - they’re fathers, sons, partners - and they’re innocent. It was extremely important for us to capture the humanity in each person’s journey rather than leaning on dramatic sensationalism or true crime clichés.

— Our Approach
The art direction prioritizes a cohesive, cinematic, and authentic visual approach that honors each person’s story. The treatment of each graphic also reinforces context and tone — family photos were treated with warm lighting on tactile photo album paper, while crime scene evidence and documents were presented under harsh fluorescent lights with the cold reproduction from a printer or copy machine. Along with these main story graphics, we also provided an extensive toolkit for lower thirds, dates, and locations.
